Glossary - General investment account

Description

General investment accounts (GIAs) are flexible investment accounts that allow individuals to hold a wide range of assets—such as shares, funds, and bonds—without the tax advantages of wrappers like ISAs or pensions. Returns within a GIA may be subject to capital gains tax and income tax, depending on the type of investment and the individual’s tax position.
