Acting Head of Charities

Quilter Cheviot

Bio

What attracted you to a career in wealth management?
Having studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at University of Warwick, Nicola knew that she wanted to combine an interest in economics with a desire to help people. This led her to join Smith and Williamson in 2009 where she spent ten years looking after private clients and offshore trusts, before moving to Investec in 2019 to join their charities team, where she subsequently became Head of Charities. This allowed her to combine her professional life with her own personal values and she finds advising clients in the charity space incredibly rewarding. She moved to Quilter Cheviot in 2025 where she works closely with their regional offices and continues to advise charity clients. Underpinning her experience, she is also a CFA Charterholder and holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing.

How do you approach your role on a daily basis?
Nicola's role centres on building strong relationships with clients and being a trusted adviser to them. Her main focus is on understanding their requirements and building a lasting partnership so they can construct a bespoke portfolio to effectively meet their unique needs and circumstances. She works closely with all members of the charities team and believes strongly in the power of collaboration and empowerment to facilitate growth.

What are your interests outside of work?
Away from work, Nicola is a member of the Finance Committee for the Anglo American Foundation. You will also find her either snowboarding in the mountains or exploring other countries and cultures. However, as she spends most of her time in the UK, you will more likely find her in the gym or eating out.
